Good day
Posted: 1 April 2006 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentTom’s team won 3-2 today in a 2nd v 3rd showdown so that’s opened a 4 point gap between us and them now with only 6 more needed to guarantee at least 2nd place. It was a good game even though Tom had to go off part way thru’ the 2nd half with a bad back. And on top of that, Argyle did Wolves 2-0. Considering how much money they spent on their squad, they were rubbish with Ince being his usual arsey self. Still, at least he scored a cracking header for us – “Incey is a Pilgrim, Incey is a Pilgrim, la la la la, la la la la”
Gooner chum
Posted: 22 March 2006 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: football Leave a commentI heard from an old mate of mine earlier in the week. I’m pretty rubbish at keeping in touch with people. I keep meaning to, even if it’s just to send out crap jokes and to say hello but one thing leads to another and before you know it, it’s 6 months later. So it was good to hear from Nick. On the plus side, he’s a shit-hot db guy and unix SA – why he’s still in that dead-end job I’ll never know – on the downside, he supports Arsenal. I know it’s a cross that someone has to bear but he’s a nice guy (so he used to keep telling me) and he deserves better than that. I mean Grimandi for God’s sake!!
But, you’ve gotta admire his devotion coz he’s got a blog up and running about them – Arsenal2day. And if you’re going to Florida and need somewhere to stay, check out his parent’s villa – Starlight Villa.
Preston
Posted: 8 March 2006 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentSo we drew with PNE last night and that was one of the best 0-0’s I’ve seen. Both teams really going for it – loads better than the Brighton game. We’ve really come along way under Pulis to hold a team like Preston. I know there’s still a long way to go but I’m pretty certain that we’ll stay up.
That was boring
Posted: 4 March 2006 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentThat has got to have been one of the most boring wins I have ever seen in all my years of watching Argyle. I know it’s 3 points and a win’s a win but even so I thought Brighton might have tried to come at us and nick it but appearently not. Stange considering that they’re in the bottom 3.
On a brighter note though, Tom won 5-2.
It’s a funny old game
Posted: 26 February 2006 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: football Leave a commentTom won 🙂 Argyle lost 🙁
Oh yes
Posted: 18 September 2005 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a comment1-0. Come on you Greeeeeeeeeens!!! 3 pouints points and a clean sheet – woh who needs a manager!! Shame we didn’t play as well as we did on Tuesday but then again maybe I’m just being picky
And if that wasn’t enough, Tom won 15-0. Now if only Argyle had done that….
At last
Posted: 14 September 2005 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentSo, we finaally finally scored. Evenb though we bossed Crewe and made waht what is generally regarded as a “passing team” resort t olong to long balls, we still only managed to draw. Let’s hope we do Burnely Burnley.
It’s hard being green
Posted: 31 August 2005 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentYou’d have thought that even Argyle could beat 10 men, but no. Not only did we not beat 10 men, we even managed to lose!! And then Brighton decide to play the best they have all season and do us 2-0. I’m sure everything is under control and when we look back at just mssing missing out on the playoffs we’ll blame this bad run but it’s bloody hard being an optimist.
First win
Posted: 24 August 2005 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentSo we finally got our first win on of the season. Even if it was only against Peterborough in the Carling Cup and we made a bit of a meal of it but a win’s a win. And we have got further now than for the last few seasons so it can’t be bad. But I wish the couple behind us will get off of Scotty Taylor’s back. He’s no Michael Owen but at least he’s started to score now.
Argyle
Posted: 26 July 2005 Filed under: Ramblings | Tags: argyle, football Leave a commentChampions League – they’re having a laugh!! The mighty Green Machine drew 0-0 with FC Bruges tonight and could have nicked it a couple of times as well. I know it’s only the first friendly at home but I thought we played really well. Knocked the ball aroubd around confidently, looked quite composed. I think we’ll do alright this season.
